Our mission is simple: to polish each guiding experience until it becomes “the reason to come to Japan” and the very purpose of the trip.

To achieve this, we carefully design even so-called “in-between” times — transfers, waiting time, small breaks — and turn them into moments of learning, discovery, and connection.

We do more than translate words. Guides also explain etiquette and the cultural background behind what you see. Questions like “What should I do in this situation in Japan?” can be answered on the spot, in a way that feels easy to understand.

Our tours are private and usually for 1–7 guests. This intimate size makes it easier to support photo taking, make small detours, or adjust the pace to how everyone is feeling that day. Children aged 3 and under join free of charge, which makes our tours friendly for families as well.

Founder Profile
Nice to meet you. My name is Eriko Arai, founder of Go Japan Journey.
From a young age, I studied art and traveled to many countries. At the same time, I have spent years exploring the culture within Japan itself, and have personally explored all 47 prefectures of Japan.
I have traveled throughout my home region of Kyushu, and after living in Tokyo for more than ten years, I have experienced everything from training at famous temples, ski trips and hot springs in the snow, to snorkeling in the ocean, climbing Mt. Fuji every year, and visiting events such as the Osaka Expo.
Japan is a place where many people can walk at night feeling relatively safe, where food is delicious, and where nature and culture are beautiful in every season. I would love people from around the world who visit this country to experience as much of that charm as possible.
Our guides aim to be like kind local friends — offering a journey that is safe, enjoyable, and leaves a warm feeling in your heart.
